EnoLogic NetFilter

The new version of EnoLogic's parental control software contains a wide range of improvements and new features to ensure online safety. Below, a summary of the most important of these is shown.

New Categories
The Internet filter is not only a porn filter but can now block web sites belonging to the following categories:

- Pornography
- Hate, racism and discrimination
- Violence and vulgar humour
- Illegal or dangerous activities
- Copyright violations

Note that you must activate those of the new categories that you wish to protect your child from in the parental control software. This is done using EnoLogic NetFilter Admin.

Improved Chat Blocking
It is now possible to add applications yourself to the blocking list of the filter. Thus, you can block chat applications, even though they are not included in the built-in list of the Internet filter.

Peer-2-Peer Blocking
The web filter can now block peer-2-peer applications (e.g. block Kazaa), which are used for exchanging music, movies, software, and more on the Internet. The web filter knows all the most common peer-2-peer applications and it is also possible to add applications to the web filtering software yourself.

Blocking of streaming audio and video
If the cost of your Internet connection depends on the volume of traffic, streaming audio and video may be expensive. Therefore, the Internet filter also supports blocking of streaming content. This way you may also protext your child against inappropriate material from these channels.

Name-based blocking of download
With this function, it is possible to block download of files based on their name, e.g. all files which have the extension ".exe". This can, for instance, be used in the content filter to prevent that software is downloaded and installed from the Internet.

Flash analysis
Now, the content filter also analyses and blocks inappropriate content in Flash format.

Improved support for frames
Now, the entire page is blocked if one or more frames contain inappropriate material.
